S10 STRETFORD ~ PAGE 2

Over the weekend of October 15/16 2005, there was a very large fire in Warrington, Cheshire, which at its height needed 25 pumps.  Additional resources were required including the High Volume Pumping Unit which was set to work into the Manchester Ship Canal at London Road Swing Bridge on the border of Warrington and Stockton Heath.  Currently Based at Stretford Fire Station the HVPU attended on PM007. [This appliance also attended the Carlisle floods in Janaury 2005, prior to allocation.] Unusually, Stretford had two reserve appliances on the run, and so an additional page has been added for the sake of clarity.  All pictures on this page were taken on Sunday 16th October 2005.
