Formerly a sub-station for Bolton County Borough,
Crompton Way was absorbed into the new Greater Manchester Fire Service
in 1974 as station B21. Since then it has been renamed Bolton North
and renumbered W51.
Seen after service with GMC, Ford MND718P was
originally based here.

ERF Hydraulic Platform PBA861R spent a short
time at allocated to Bolton North in the mid 1980s.
It was seen here in Bolton Town Centre.

They say that lightning never strikes twice
but HPV PBA861R was written off on Folds Road, Bolton, in 1987
very near to the spot where VWH500K was written
off in 1972. Pictures of that appliance are on the Bolton
County Borough page.
With regard to the accident involving PBA861R,
I am assured that the most serious injury was to someone's pride!

allocated here.

BA Tender K128XRJ spent most of its life at
Bolton North before moving to Atherton for the final few months.
It was seen at a 6 pump fire in Daisy Hill,
28 October 2003.
Talbot M318NVU began life here before eventually
moving to Ramsbottom.

Volvo FL6 N656YNC was in attendance at what ultimately became a 20 pump fire in Belmont, 16 April 2003.
For a time, when the off road vehicle was unavailable,
Talbot 4x4 M320NVU from Marple was used in
its place.
It was seen in the yard at Bolton Central
with both 243 and 513 in the window, 29 July 2008.
Volvo FLH MV53EXO was at te Trafford Centre for the 999 Day, 7 August 2014.
Volvo Prime Mover X594AVR with HRU was seen at an incident in Bryn just after dawn, 19 May 2011.
Volvo PF08SNV was seen at an 8 pump fire in Breightmet, 21 October 2018.
Off road appliance, T271MBA was seen approaching
an incident in Horwich, 25 April 2021.
This was one of the final incidents attended
by the Pinzgauer, being retired very soon afterwards.
BX13LBF was seen at the Trafford Centre, 7 August 2014.
Volvo Prime Mover PJ15OGN with the Hose Retrieval
Unit was seen in New Springs arriving at a 7 pump fire, 29 May 2020.
