As ever this year, I am grateful to Gary Smith, M.D. for his support and encouragement that allows me to bring you up-to-date pictures of what is happening at TVAC.
In build on this date were appliances for Central Scotland, Dumfires & Galloway, Cheshire, London and Merseyside, plus there was a body for a Norfolk 'special' which awaits the arrival of the chassis.
Both appliances from Central Scotland are now in the body shop, whilst the first Rapid Response Appliance for Cheshire nears completion. More appliances for Leicestershire, London and Merseyside are in build, and the Scania chassis for the Norfolk appliance mentioned above has also arrived on site. Completing this update is another picture of the 2nd DAF LF being used for demonstration purposes.
It would seem that Scania is the most popular make of chassis for fire engines at present, with no fewer than 8 examples for Leicestershire, Merseyside and Northamptonshire. There are Volvos for Central Scotland and work on converting the demo DAF LF for Lancashire is also progressing well, as is work on the Norfolk Rescue Unit. Finally, there were two London Ategos present, one DPL and one FRU.
