BE PREPARED! It is very
rare that I venture anywhere without my camera. On this occasion
I left my camera at home as I had a time-critical appointment.
As I was arriving, I could see a very large column of smoke in the Rochdale
direction and within 5 minutes was contacted to take the SACU.
Unfortunately I was not available to respond with the van, but managed
to attend the scene for about 10 minutes, before returning to conclude
my appointment.
I am, therefore, extremely grateful
to Roy Cunningham, who very kindly provided me with a camera to use, and
also to Paul Gilbert who has very kindly supplied a couple of pictures
from the 'other side' of the fire.
Sadly, one employee lost his life
in this incident, and our deepest sympathies go to his family and colleagues.
R.I.P.
The appliance facing the camera was MV53EXM from Chadderton with the other being PN08UXJ from Heywood.
