CITY OF SALFORD FIRE DEPARTMENT

The old Central Fire Station in Salford, located on the main A6, and seen here in 1972
was almost as famous as its near neighbour at London Road, Manchester.

Dennis DJ DBA95L was seen at the rear of Worsley Workshops.
The appliance was unique when it passed into GMC, being the only appliance in the fleet fitted with a 4.2 litre Jaguar engine.
It regularly overheated and had at least one new engine and several new cylinder heads!
