Regular visitors to this wil recall a very large incident at Maple Mill No. 2 on Dowry Street, Hathershaw, in April 2009.   The two Maple Mills were almost adjacent to each other.
No. 2 mill was completely destroyed in 2009, but No. 1 mill was saved in this incident.   Apologies for the quality of some pictures.  All were taken in what limited light was available.

Nearest the camera G39P2, then G42P1, G33P1, G33A1 and just visible at the far end G34P1.

With the HPV from Oldham in use in the distance smoke could be seen shrouding the mill chimney.

Appliance PO11AUY from Oldham was part of the initial 8 pumps that attended.

The first relief pump to arrive was PN57AOU with new ID G53P2 from Farnworth.

Appliance MH04FJC from Bolton Central had arrived on relief duties.

The Command Vehicle from Atherton, MV54AYW had just arrived to relieve the Command Vehicle from Hyde.

Volvo PF08SNY from Salford was another relief pump.

Volvo PO60KWT from Wythenshawe was a relief pump,
whilst behind was MF51EXK a reserve appliance from Blackley and part of the 8 pump make up.
