Ancient and Modern meet in this picture of
Colne's '1905' station,
with a Ford D600 and Commer HY 352KTF seen
side by side.

There is something special about finding old
Fire Stations still in tact, albeit in use for a different purpose.
The external structure had changed little
when this photograph was taken, 14 October 2010.
This is a close up of the plaque on the right hand side of the building.
Karrier 415ATC began life at Colne, but had
almost certainly moved on when this picture was taken.

The Commer HY in the previous picture was on
the run as a reserve appliance
having been based at Padiham. Contemporary
with that appliance was this
Bedford J5 283LTD which was allocated to Colne,
and replaced by the first Ford's to be purchased.

fleet and was seen here in Garstang.
