Further research by the Merseyside Museum has
revealed that this incident was Textile Mill Ltd., Cobden Street, Chadderton,
10 July 1950.
The fire spread involved two adjoining mills
and was attended by 14 pumps.
In the middle of the picture is Ashton's Dennis
F7 PE LTC787 the first of only 3 Dennis pumps operated by Lancashire County
in the 1950s.
The other two pump escapes are former NFS
appliance GGX944, and nearest the camera FTB263 a Leyland FK ex-MIddleton.
