AT LAST IT'S RAINING!!!
By Saturday morning the incident
had been reduced to 5 pumps plus specials. OUR JOB DONE!
We made food packs for 40 personnel and left the incident after 9 very
long but interesting and enjoyable days. It was a great privilege
for all of us to be able to go and feed the crews at these major incidents
and we all look forward to helping as and when we are required 24/7 365
days of the year. Congratulations to all who attended these
incidents and worked so very, very hard in often very difficult circumstances.
You are what make the British Fire & Rescue Service something that
this country can be justifiably proud of.
The view from the cab of our van as we arrived on Saturday morning.
Braving the elements to show PN09PYV from Chorley, PO55WDV from Blackburn and PM164 from Burnley.
On the other side of the car park, J269TTX from Whitefield and PO56TVY from Lancaster.
Although we left the incident on Saturday morning, it was Day 10 ~ Sunday 8 May 2011 ~ before the incident was finally closed, and crews had to spend many hours making up equipment.
